Judith King has lived most of her life on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, and has been recording her observations of island life for almost 40 years in a variety of media, including batik, oil paint, watercolor, serigraph, and natural materials.
She has shown her work extensively in the Caribbean over the years, on St. Bart's, St. Maarten, Antigua and most often on St. Thomas, at Mango Tango.
This year, she is working mainly in oil encaustic on canvas, silver jewelry design, and crafting sculpture and masks with seed pods from flamboyant, mahogany and tan tan.
The artist's lighthearted approach celebrates the beauty and the unique qualities of the people and things all around her.
